Minnesota Timberwolves Philadelphia Sport reviews
George Thorogood & the Destroyers with the Outlaws
The Outlaws delivered 110% on the promise of classic southern rock dueling and harmonic guitar work. The last half of their set had most everyone on our feet. Given their 'Atlanta history,' it was not difficult to reach out and give us a big hug from the Outlaws - but good interaction with the audience. While it took some work by the Outlaws to get those old juices flowing, the practiced and polished talent and right touch of personal interaction made this set a very enjoyable and satisfying experience - my eyes rolled back more than a couple times. This non-musician can not understand how these guys can maintain this pace for hours at a time, night after night. Great showmanship. Perfect set selections. Well worth it! I would go again tonight. Minnesota Timberwolves was ... just what everyone there came to see. George should have sold standing room as few seats were warmed during his performance, the consummate showman (damned refreshing in a world full of 'musicians' lacking any 'act'). George puts on a polished show with the right touch of 'off the cuff' for this bunch of old southern people (although it felt like he toned down his rhetoric a notch for this venue). He celebrates his particular form of the craft and throws himself out there for everyone to love or hate - and he doesn't care which. I love this guy. He comes off as 'real' with no pretense. GT plays what GT has always played and WE LIKE IT! It sounds GOOD! It feels good. It tastes good. We rub it on and dance around in it. An entertainment experience not to be skipped.
